Diamond Saw Blade Segment Welding Machine: Welding Process & Technical Guide

The Diamond saw blade segment welding machine is a crucial tool in the stone processing industry. It ensures the precise and reliable welding of diamond segments onto the saw blade blank, enabling high-efficiency and long-lasting cutting performance. Kaida Stone Machinery provides advanced welding solutions designed specifically for granite and marble cutting blades.

Why Use a Diamond Saw Blade Segment Welding Machine?
When welding a diamond segment to a saw blade blank, it's essential to consider that the two components are made from different metals. Therefore, a brazing welding process is employed. This ensures strong bonding, resistance to wear, and a long service life.

Welding Process Overview
Step 1: Surface Preparation
Polish the diamond segment (also known as the stone cutting segment) using a grinding wheel. This ensures a clean bonding surface. Then, insert a silver solder sheet (silver-plated copper sheet) between the diamond segment and the saw blade blank.

Step 2: Align and Fix
Position the diamond segment accurately on the blade blank. Proper alignment is critical to ensure uniform cutting and blade balance.

Step 3: High-Frequency Welding
Activate the Diamond saw blade segment welding machine. The high-frequency current generates intense heat, melting the silver solder sheet. During this process, cooling water is simultaneously applied to maintain temperature control.

Step 4: Cooling
After welding, the blade must cool naturally on the welding rack for at least 2 hours. This prevents thermal deformation. Once cooled, hang the welded blade vertically for a minimum of 10 hours before it is put into use.

Important Technical Notes
Segment Selection
Choose the appropriate granite or marble cutting segment based on the material to be processed. The quality and geometry of the segment directly affect the cutting speed and blade lifespan. The Diamond saw blade segment welding machine must allow for precise adjustment during welding to ensure accuracy.

Solder Sheet Specification
Select a high-quality silver solder sheet with a silver content of at least 35%. The recommended welding temperature is 600°C to 800°C. Excessive temperature or prolonged heating can lead to segment misalignment, tooth sticking, or even blade deformation.

Welding Techniques
To reduce thermal stress and avoid warping, adopt isolation welding or oblique welding techniques. These methods help maintain the structural integrity of the diamond saw blade during the welding process.

Post-Welding Treatment
Proper cooling and hanging ensure the blade remains flat and balanced. Never use a freshly welded blade immediately without sufficient resting time, as this can cause early failure in the field.
